About the position

We are looking to hire a mission-driven A player to lead our project finance team and drive down our cost of capital. This Brighter’s responsibilities will include working with Trustees, instructing period payments, responding to Lenders' requests and reports, and helping us expand and further key lender relationships and attracting and developing new ones. You will also help us secure additional sources of lower-cost of capital

 

Required: 

  • 3+ years of project finance, corporate finance, or investment banking experience in renewable energy or similar industry, securing industry-leading lending partnerships

  • Knowledge in project finance, structured finance, and compliance.

  • Experience with structured debt, loan, and debt origination.

  • Degree in finance/accounting or related (essential).

  • Has experience closing complex and high-value business transactions under tight timeframes, investors.

  • Robust financial acumen

  • Strong modeling proficiency (excel, google sheets, etc.)

  • Familiarity with DSCRs, CFADS, and sculpted debt amortization schedules (or sincere interest to quickly learn)

  • Ability to negotiate a term sheet

  • Knowledge of consumer finance or leasing

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish

Preference will be given to someone with: 

  • Experience leading a team

  • Become an in-house expert on our loan agreements, and work to delight our lenders so that Bright is able to continue to draw down future lender advances 

  • Organization of legal documentation and reports.

  • Charismatic individual, one whom lending partners will want to work with and with whom they’ll have the utmost confidence in your clear expertise and domain knowledge

  • Experience creating marketing materials, including teasers, CIMs, and managing data rooms.

Your tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • 100% payments made to Lenders on-time

  • 100% of Lender and internal reporting requirements are submitted on time

  • Lower our cost of capital

    • Develop a roadmap to lower the cost of capital, developing the industry-leading relationships to do so

    • Independently develop and run sensitivities in models and quantify the resultant impact on sponsor IRR and margin.

  • Ensure we always have availability of project finance capital to fuel growth

    • Work with product, sales, and legal teams to ensure our products can continue to successfully address sales team wishlists with lender requirements - find the ‘win-wins.’

  • Ensure Bright closes a new lender in 2022.
